The Z-50 is a basic material analyzer. It uses laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). It performs air-based analysis (air burn) only, no argon purge. So like other air-burn units it is largely for basic sorting or more qualitative analysis. Eighty years of spark OES usage have proven that for quantitative, precise analysis, an argon purge is essential for OES techniques like spark or LIBS

Z-200

The Z-200 offers point-and-shoot simplicity of operation for the metals, mining and other industrial testing or QC applications. It’s also an advanced spectrometer with sophisticated analytics and calibration model building software. The Z-200 uses a pulsed laser, 5-6 mJ/pulse, 50 Hz repetition rate. It is the world’s only handheld LIBS with integrated argon purge, allowing the analyzer to be operated in both air-based analysis for quick screening, or argon-purge for highly sensitive, precise measurements. It features an on-board camera and laser targeting so you can view the sample and precisely aim where the laser will strike.

Z-200 C+

Z-200 C+

The Z-200 C+ is a dedicated analyzer for alloy analysis including carbon content. It analyzes carbon content in stainless, down to 0.007 ppm, for dependable separation of L and H grades. The C+ also analyzes carbon steels, including carbon equivalents (CE) for weldability. The analyzer is available in two versions. The Z-200 C comes with iron-base calibrations including carbon. The Z-200 C+ includes both iron and stainless bases and carbon. Additional bases may be added at time of purchase or any later date.

The Z-300 accomplishes what no other portable analyzer has done. It’s a handheld analyzer that measures every element in the periodic table of the elements – from H to U. The Z-300 uses the same laser as the Z-200, but with an extended spectrometer range from 190 nm out to 950 nm. The extended range allows emission lines from elements H, F, N, O, Br, Cl, Rb, Cs and S to be measured. These lines cannot be measured with the Z-200

The X-100 is the same hardware platform as the X-200, except with calibration and software omitted for certain element/app combinations. For the alloy app, the X-100 excludes Mg, Al, Si, P and S. For exploration and environmental, the X-100 excludes Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, K, and Ca. For other applications, in general the X-100 hardware is not configured for elemental analysis below atomic number 20 (Ca).
